Job summary

ICFAI is seeking a Health Information Technician to perform record preparation, scanning, quality control, and validation of patient records as a primary focus. The role includes chart analysis, providing copies of records for continuity of care, and scanning loose documents while maintaining confidentiality and exercising independent judgment.

The position reports to the Director of Health Information Management and the Quality Data Manager and requires strong attention to detail and the

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
• Prior experience in a Medical Record department preferred.
• Excellent computer and typing skills; proficiency in Windows and Excel.
• Knowledge of basic office equipment.
• Experience with terminal digit filing.
• Experience with RAC, Medicaid, CCME and CDS preferred.
• Ability to read handwriting, be detail oriented, and communicate effectively.
• Able to work independently and under stress.
• May require extended or irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Performs record prep, scan, QC and validation of patient records as primary focus.
• Analyzes patient charts as secondary focus.
• Provides copies of medical records for requestors for continuity of care.
• Scans loose documents in the patient medical record.
• Maintains confidentiality and exercises independent judgment.
• Works under general supervision and has full access to patient health information.
