New York State Office of Mental Health's Central New York Psychiatric Center (CNYPC) in Marcy, NY is recruiting a Health Information Management Administrator 1 to oversee the health information management department, with a Monday–Friday schedule 8:00 AM–4:30 PM and weekend pass days.

You will manage records, conduct audits for compliance, train staff on the EHR, process release of information, and support regulatory surveys, with travel to other correction facilities.

Qualifications

• Health information management knowledge required.
• Experience with HIPAA compliance and medical records.
• Ability to train and supervise health information staff.

Responsabilités

• Oversee review, maintenance, and use of medical records for completeness and accuracy.
• Conduct record audits to ensure accreditation, regulatory, and legal compliance.
• Provide training and support on health information management and EHR usage to staff.
• Resolve issues related to proper medical records maintenance and usage.
• Supervise and train staff in facility medical records and health information management.
• Process release of information requests and subpoenas in compliance with HIPAA.
• Input forensic admissions and discharges and alert clinical staff of upcoming admissions.
• Prepare, coordinate, and participate in regulatory agency surveys.
• Travel to other correction-based facilities as needed.
