Equiliem seeks a Health Informatics Specialist III who partners with clinical, business, and technology services teams to design, implement, adopt, and ensure interoperability of health information systems enterprise-wide. • Ambulatory and inpatient experience required.
• Active professional license applicable to clinical discipline (e.g., RN, Pharmacist, RT, PT, SLP, OT).
• Certified Informatics Nurse (RN-BC) within 18 months of hire, if applicable.
• CPHIMS within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a liaison between Technology Services and nursing, providers, allied health, and non-clinical end users.
• Develops and maintains effective partnerships with clinical and operational leadership.
• Analyzes clinical and non-clinical technology solutions to determine applicability to clinical practice, operational processes, administration, and research.
• Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Leads unit-level core and sub-teams for operational and implementation work.
• Consults with individuals and groups to define healthcare information needs and identify methods for implementing, utilizing, and optimizing technology solutions and data structures.
• Collaborates with enterprise governance and shared governance teams.
• Identifies the impact of technology solutions on workflows and works with stakeholders to mitigate risks.
• Communicates with key stakeholders, sponsors, and internal customers through presentations, project updates, and information-gathering sessions.
• Serves as a preceptor for graduate informatics students.
• Supports clinical communication and provides guidance on workflow processes during downtime events and EHR reconciliation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of system development life cycles and follows organizational frameworks for system implementation and change management.
• Operationalizes change using quality methodologies to standardize processes in alignment with evidence-based practice, quality initiatives, regulatory requirements, and billing compliance.
• Develops risk-benefit analyses of alternative solutions to support decision-making.
• Recognizes the impact of change on clinical and non-clinical systems and partners with education and communications teams to drive adoption.
• Collaborates with clinical partners to identify problems and document current and future-state workflows.
• Assists with project and operational testing.
• Performs gap analyses and develops solutions to address identified gaps and mitigate risks.
• Serves as a consultant in the design and implementation of complex technology process improvement initiatives.

Job Summary

The Health Informatics Specialist III is an experienced informatics professional and internal consultant who partners with Clinical, Business, and Technology Services teams to support the successful design, implementation, adoption, and interoperability of clinical and non-clinical information systems across the enterprise. This role is directly engaged in enterprise, capital, and operational projects. Utilizing process improvement and change management techniques, the specialist is responsible for identifying and implementing improvement opportunities aimed at reducing risk, improving workflows and care delivery, and evaluating the effectiveness of integrated technologies. The specialist adheres to organizational mission, vision, and values and practices within the defined scope of practice designated by applicable regulatory bodies.

Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Operations, or related field.

Preferred Education

• Master's Degree in Health Informatics, Nursing Informatics, or a related discipline.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active professional license applicable to clinical discipline (e.g., Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, Respiratory Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist), as required by state regulations.
• Certified Informatics Nurse (RN-BC) within 18 months of hire, if applicable.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) within 18 months of hire.

Preferred Certifications

• Specialty certification relevant to clinical or informatics practice.

• Participates in the development of orientation and training programs for departmental staff.

• Prioritizes and manages team assignments to ensure timely completion and achievement of productivity goals.
• Participates in workgroups and committees to identify and implement service improvement opportunities.
• Conducts service rounds and gathers customer feedback to evaluate service effectiveness and satisfaction.
• Develops systems to collect, analyze, and communicate performance feedback.
• Analyzes and trends operational data to drive quality improvements and reporting initiatives.
• Contributes to process improvement efforts including organizational change management, data management, process mapping, and communications.
• Identifies and implements improvements using approved process improvement methodologies.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for designated technology platforms and optimization efforts.
• Supports staff in leveraging technology tools to improve productivity, analytics, and reporting capabilities.
