Job summary

University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a Clinical Assistant Professor in Health Information Management to teach online and in-person courses and support accreditation compliance for undergraduate HIM and graduate health informatics programs.

The role includes mentoring students, contributing to recruitment/outreach, and participating in department, school, and industry service. Rank and salary depend on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in related discipline such as health informatics, data analytics, health information management, or similar.
• 5 years of experience in healthcare in health informatics and/or higher education settings.
• Experience with health information systems (EHRs, clinical information systems, decision-support).

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Develop, revise, and teach in-person and online health informatics courses.
• Set up courses in learning management systems per departmental standards.
• Use rubrics for objective scoring and assess learning.
• Support students and refer them to resources.
• Coordinate curriculum with adjunct faculty and chair.
• Ensure courses are updated in LMS and aligned with accreditation requirements.
• Engage in committee work and professional service; advise graduate students.
