Job summary

HealthFitness is seeking a Health Fitness Professional for our Downtown Providence, RI client gym. You will guide individuals and groups through exercise sessions, monitor safety, and conduct assessments to tailor programs. You’ll also create engaging materials and participate in outreach to boost participation.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and ability to motivate others while delivering high‑quality fitness services in a busy corporate setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field or 2+ years’ fitness/wellness experience.
• OSHA First Aid/CPR/AED certification from recognized provider.
• Active industry certifications (Group Exercise Instructor) within 6 months if not current.

Responsibilities

• Supervise facility and ensure participant safety and equipment use.
• Provide individual and group exercise instruction; teach proper techniques.
• Coordinate and lead HealthFitness programs and promotions.
• Conduct fitness testing and provide personalized program recommendations.
• Create bulletin boards and newsletters; assist with outreach activities.
• Participate in membership drives and orientations; assist internship program.
