Job summary

ALIVIO MEDICAL CENTER INC is seeking a Health Data Analyst to turn clinical, operational, and financial information into decisions that drive continuous improvement. This onsite Chicago role builds reporting, validates data quality, and partners across the organization to strengthen data-informed planning and performance.

Responsibilities include creating reports and dashboards, analyzing multiple data sources, and supporting budgeting and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IS/CS/Statistics or similar.
• Experience in FQHC/community health settings preferred.
• Familiarity with HRSA UDS reporting and quality measures.
• Experience with EHR data (eClinicalWorks or similar) and HIPAA.

ALIVIO MEDICAL CENTER INC is seeking a Health Data Analyst to help turn clinical, operational, and financial information into decisions that support continuous improvement. This onsite Chicago role focuses on building reporting and dashboards, validating data quality, and partnering with teams across the organization to strengthen data-informed planning and performance.

What you’ll do

• Collect, analyze, interpret, and present clinical, operational, financial, and other organizational data to support decision-making by managers, senior leadership, and stakeholders.
• Develop, maintain, and distribute reports, dashboards, and data visualizations covering organizational performance, operations, finance, quality, clinical services, and strategic initiatives.
• Work with data from multiple systems to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement, with experience in platforms such as eCw (or similar) preferred.
• Partner with departments and stakeholders to translate business and operational needs into meaningful analyses, reports, and solutions.
• Support operational and financial analysis by monitoring key performance indicators such as productivity, co pay collection, resource allocation, and financial performance.
• Identify patterns in data and provide recommendations aimed at improving performance, efficiency, quality, and effectiveness.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities for operational and financial priorities as needed.
• Build and maintain processes to validate data accuracy, resolve discrepancies, troubleshoot data issues, and improve data integrity.
• Build, enhance, and automate reporting tools and workflows to improve the availability, timeliness, and usability of information across the organization.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses and develop forecasts supporting operational, financial, clinical, quality, and strategic priorities.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical staff to promote effective data use and stronger data-informed decision-making.
• Monitor and evaluate performance against established goals, benchmarks, and key performance indicators.
• Support departments in defining meaningful metrics and establishing consistent processes for data collection, reporting, and analysis.
• Maintain knowledge of organizational workflows, policies, and operational practices and how they influence data, performance, and outcomes.
• Prepare clear presentations and summaries of analytical findings for management and executive leadership.
• Support HRSA Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting, including data validation, reconciliation, and submission preparation.
• Analyze clinical quality measures, including preventive care, chronic disease management, behavioral health, and other applicable measures.
• Support HEDIS, value-based care, health equity, and population health initiatives.
• Collaborate with Quality Improvement staff to monitor performance improvement initiatives and measure outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, organizational policies, and applicable federal and state regulations related to data and information.
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in IS, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar (preferred).
• Experience working in an FQHC, community health center, or other safety-net healthcare organization.
• Familiarity with HRSA UDS reporting and FQHC performance requirements.
• Experience with HEDIS, UDS clinical measures, quality measures, or value-based care.
• Experience with EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of healthcare coding and terminology, including ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and encounter data.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare data privacy requirements.
• Experience supporting population health or quality improvement programs.
• Commitment to providing health care to families in a medically underserved community.
• Willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of health service delivery.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with a highly confidential approach.
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, health care professionals, funders, and regulatory agencies.
• Bilingual in English and another language appropriate to the health center’s patient population (preferred, not required).
• Ability to function independently with minimal supervision, including planning, coordinating, and completing tasks needed to meet responsibilities.
• Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate patient needs.
• Commitment to cost conscious, fiscally responsible, timely, efficient, effective, safe, patient-centered, culturally competent, equitable, and participatory health care.
• Ability to process personal health information in accordance with HIPAA policies and procedures.
