Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan invites undergrad and grad students to join its Internship Program in Detroit. Interns will work on meaningful projects, research business problems, and gain exposure to BCBSM products and data while networking with leaders.

Candidates should be enrolled in a college/university program with a 3.0+ GPA, possess strong communication and analytical skills, and be able to balance multiple projects in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Enrolled in a college/university or Master’s/PhD program for the duration of the internship.
• Effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as a team.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Confidential information handling.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suites and BCBSM systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing information and research materials to identify business problems and offer recommendations.
• Support leaders on projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
• Develop and maintain understanding of BCBSM business, products, programs, data, and research.
• Analyze business goals, objectives, and needs within the organization.
• Participate in networking events with BCBSM leaders and other interns.
• Engage in volunteer activities/community outreach to build knowledge of our communities and customers.
• Participate in department meetings and events.

• Support leaders on projects designed to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
• Develop and maintain a solid understanding of BCBSM business, products, programs, data, organizational structure, controls, research.

• Participate in networking events with BCBSM leaders and other interns.
