Job summary

Venice Family Clinic is seeking a Health Advocate to support Head Start Health Services. You'll assist with follow-ups, referrals, appointments, reporting, monitoring, and maintain an effective record-keeping system to ensure health and disabilities requirements are fulfilled.

Under the guidance of the Health Services Manager, you will travel to locations as needed and work in a bilingual environment, with emphasis on confidentiality and professional judgment.

Qualifications

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, bilingual in Spanish.
  • Good interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, children, parents, and other agencies.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment, evaluate information before making decisions, and maintain all information in strict confidentiality.
  • Experience working with Childplus.net and Nextgen databases, internet, and MS Office Suite (MS Excel and Word).
  • A valid CA State driver’s license, ability to travel to other locations as needed, and schedule flexibility.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, medical documentation, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to assess information, solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

We have a network of clinics, Early Head Start centers and mobile clinics plus an expansive street medicine program to reach people experiencing homelessness.

Job Overview

Make a difference in the community as a Health Advocate with our Venice Family Clinic. This role will assist with follow-ups, referrals, appointments, reporting, monitoring, and maintaining an effective record‑keeping system to ensure health and disabilities requirements are fulfilled in the Head Start Performance Standards. This position will receive guidance and direction from the Children First Early Head Start Health Services Manager, and will perform other duties as assigned by management.

Please note that this is a full‑time 5‑month limited position and may convert to career. Salary range: $28.78 - $59.34 hourly.
