Job summary

Sun Life U.S. invites applications for a Health Advisor, a full-time role spanning Monday–Friday with on-call rotation in the Baltimore/Washington DC area. You will coordinate healthcare, gather records, arrange second opinions, and provide compassionate support to PinnacleCare members within a leading benefits organization.

The ideal candidate has a health-related degree or RN, hospital exposure, strong communication, and teamwork skills to guide members through complex care pathways.

Qualifications

• College degree in Social Work or RN certification or equivalent.
• Background in medical social work, nursing or case management.
• Hospital setting experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and CRM systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of the Member’s healthcare, including collection of medical records, scheduling appointments, and facilitating second opinions with top physicians when needed.
• Collaborate with Medical Directors and Researchers to provide members with the latest information on medical conditions, treatments, clinical trials as well as options of highly qualified physicians to consult for care.
• Members turn to their PinnacleCare Health Advisor for unbiased support and assistance in any medical situation.
• Provide high‑touch customer service to our members.
• Your member and their family will look to you for competent, efficient, and caring support.
• Develop and maintain relationships with physicians and hospital staff.

The opportunity

The Health Advisor role is responsible for providing high-touch customer service to PinnacleCare Members, building strong relationships while helping them to navigate the healthcare system in order to receive the best and most expeditious healthcare available. This is a full time Monday-Friday position with an on‑call rotation generally every 4 weeks. Our Health Advisors occasionally accompany members on appointments within the Baltimore/Washington DC area. PinnacleCare is a health advisory service that connects individuals and organizations to the world’s most advanced healthcare and facilitates access to top specialists for more streamlined and personalized healthcare experience. PinnacleCare extends a broad range of support for families and organizations to facilitate more efficient access and better outcomes through Comprehensive Health Advisory Memberships for individuals/families, and Connection Group Benefits available through employers/organizations.

How you will contribute

What you will bring with you

• College degree in Social Work or other health related field, or RN certification
• Background in medical social work, nursing or case management
• Hospital setting experience is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with MS Office, CRM database systems and internet
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills, agility in multi‑tasking, decisiveness, bias towards action and proactive approach to medical needs of members

Salary

Salary Range: $76,200 - $114,300 At our company, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The salary range for this role is competitive nationwide, and we strive to ensure that compensation is fair and equitable. Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to your base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on your individual performance as well as the overall performance of the business.
