Job summary

Coilplus, Inc. in Ohio is seeking a warehouse operator to set up slitting machines and prepare work orders for cutting product to width.

You will read work orders, calculate knife sheets, check knives, build and adjust cutter stands, and maintain a clean, safe work area while collaborating with team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Prior metals experience preferred.
• Basic reading/writing to read work orders, safety, and policy manuals.

Responsibilities

• Calculate knife sheets and lay out spacers and rubbers.
• Check knives for knicks and sharpness; change blades as needed.
• Build, remove, and adjust cutter stands; check clearances.
• Maintain a clean work environment; keep area free of trash and scrap.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Performs a variety of duties to set-up slitting machines to cut product to proper width according to workorder/customer specifications.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Calculate knife sheets and lays-out spacer and rubbers.

Check knives for knicks and sharpness. Change knife blades when necessary. Check knife performance during operations to assure clean cuts.

Builds, removes, replaces, and deconstructs cutter stands according to workorder specifications/knife sheets. Checks clearances on cutter stands.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintain a clean work environment by keeping work area free of trash and scrap.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals).
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficient in basic math skills.
• Basic communication skills.
• Ability to follow and give instructions.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Ability to work closely with others in a team environment.

Experience & Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to three years of related experience or equivalent
• Prior metals experience preferred.
