Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) in Santa Ana, CA, is seeking machine operators for a full-time, on-site role in the Fasteners division. You will troubleshoot, train, understand progressive header tooling, and contribute to new process/tool design aimed at cost savings while meeting quality standards.

You will read blueprints, operate die packages, and collaborate with engineering on tooling development. This role requires strong English skills, safety discipline, and physical ability to lift up

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and print reading specifications.
• Experience with inspection processes and quality control.
• Familiarity with header tooling configurations and tooling practices.
• Understanding wire materials and coatings as they relate to product performance.

Responsibilities

• Work safely under PPE and maintenance guidelines.
• Adhere to quality processes including in-process inspection.
• Use calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, go/no go gauges.
• Read work orders and blueprints accurately.
• Lift up to 35 lbs.
• Assist in training new hires and machine setups.
• Operate die packages (1 die/2 punches; 2 die/4 punches; 3 die-6 die).
• Follow the 3-pan rule and collaborate with engineering on tooling/process improvements.
• Work in a team environment and support colleagues as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Position Summary:

machine operators demonstrate expert troubleshooting, full area cross training abilities as well as demonstrate knowledge of progressive header tooling configurations and functions. Operators will demonstrate product knowledge including design, performance, and critical dimensions. They will also be involved in the development and design of new or improved processes and tools focusing on cost saving.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Adhere to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Use measuring instruments: calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, go/no go gages
• Correctly interpret work orders and read blueprints.
• Lift up to 35lbs
• Assist in the development of new hires & machine setups of Nakishimadas, Sakamuras, and Nationals.
• Operate the following die packages.
  • 1 die, 2 punches
  • 2 die, 4 punches
  • 3 die - 6 die
• Understand and follow the 3-pan rule.
• Work alongside engineering for research and development of tooling and processes.
• Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Pay & Benefits

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $23.00 to $48.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
