Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is looking for a Coach to manage sports programs for student athletes. The role involves planning practices, overseeing contests, and ensuring the safety of sports facilities. The coach will work closely with the head coach and athletic director to maintain discipline and recommend necessary equipment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in coaching and a strong ability to foster sportsmanship among students.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for achievement in the sport involved.
• Plans and schedules regular practice programs with approval from head coach and athletic director.
• Establishes schedule for intramural and interscholastic contests with head coach and athletic director.
• Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Maintains necessary attendance forms and insurance records.
• Oversees safety conditions of the facility or area for the sport.
• Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for achievement in the sport involved.
• Plans and schedules a regular program of practice with the approval and direction of the Head Coach and Athletic Director (including all revisions).
• Works closely with the head coach and athletic director in establishing a schedule for intramural and interscholastic contests (all revisions require prior approval by head coach and athletic director).
• Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, in cooperation with the head coach and athletic director.
• Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork (as assigned).
• Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times students are present.
• Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees cooperation with the head coach, penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
