Job summary

Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo seeks a Head Track and Field Coach for the 2026-2027 school year to lead the program, plan practices, organize competitions, and mentor student‑athletes toward athletic and academic success.

The ideal candidate has coaching experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and MHSAA CAP Level 1 & 2 progress, with expertise in High Jump and Long Jump, and a commitment to safety, discipline, and positive leadership within a diverse school community.

Qualifications

• Two years coaching experience as head coach or assistant in a high school.
• CAP Level 1 & 2 training required by start of second season.
• Current first aid and CPR training.
• Expertise in High Jump and Long Jump.

Responsibilities

• Organize and hold team player tryouts and selection.
• Coordinate and organize practice and game events.
• Follow due process guidelines when disciplining athletes.
• Develop a well organized practice plan and schedule.
• Meet all deadlines for paperwork (rosters, physicals, etc.).
• Maintain a positive, respectful program and lead by example.
