Job summary

ABCD Head Start is seeking a passionate teacher to deliver high-quality preschool education as part of a collaborative teaching team in Mattapan. The role requires planning and implementing Education Component objectives and maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

The Teacher will work with staff, families and the community to promote the Head Start mission, while adhering to all federal, state and local regulations and program policies.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in early childhood education or equivalent with preschool experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or equivalent with preschool experience.
• Master’s degree in early childhood education or equivalent with preschool experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-school children with a joyful, nurturing environment.
• Support learning through developmentally appropriate activities and planning.
• Lead and mentor Teacher Assistants and volunteers.
• Engage families to enhance child development and learning.
• Maintain safety, health, and confidentiality in the classroom.
• Comply with all applicable laws, policies, and reporting requirements.
