Job summary

Acelero Learning Delaware is seeking a dedicated Head Start Teacher to guide a classroom of 3- to 5-year-olds toward school readiness and holistic development. You will implement a responsive curriculum, support diverse learners, and partner with families to enrich student learning.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff and site leadership, bilingual abilities are a plus, and the position involves health checks, safety, and active student engagement throughout the day.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent coursework.
  • Pass a physical exam and background check.
  • Valid driver's license or reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and actively engage with children throughout the day.

What You'll Do
  • Lead a joyful, inclusive classroom that promotes school readiness, literacy, language, and social-emotional development.
  • Implement a child-centered curriculum that reflects the needs, interests, and cultural backgrounds of the children you serve.
  • Foster family partnerships by conducting home visits, hosting parent-teacher conferences, and involving families in their child's learning journey.
  • Support diverse learners, including children with disabilities, by integrating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) into daily instruction.
  • Document and assess progress using observations, anecdotal notes, and digital tools like CreativeCurriculum.net to individualize instruction.
  • Ensure child safety and well-being, from conducting daily health checks to modeling positive behaviors during meals and play.
