Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of Family Service Center, Head Start, and licensing policies and apply standards.

• Create and maintain learning centers for small group activities.
• Arrange field trips and special activities.
• Establish classroom management routines for small groups.
• Implement Head Start regulations and complete center reports accurately.
• Communicate with parents via home visits, conferences, notes, and meetings.
• Assist with parent meetings and participate in them.

Job Title: Head Start Teacher

Details:

• Full time position (10 month/190 Day position)

• Salary is based on experience- starting salary $31,959 PLUS $3,500 Stipend

Overview of Qualifications:

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge, understanding and adherence to the philosophy, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and standards of the Family Service Center, Head Start, Louisiana Child Care Licensing and other appropriate entities, including the professional knowledge and skills to carry out activities.
• Provide daily lesson plans and plans for teacher aide.
• Provide experiences appropriate to the age level of each child.
• Develop curriculum which seeks to meet the individual needs of each child.
• Create and maintain learning centers for small group activities.
• Arrange and conduct field trips and other special activities.
• Provide classroom management routine for small group activities.
• Become knowledgeable of and implement regulations of the Head Start program.
• Complete center reports and records accurately and on time.Communicate with parents via home visits, conferences, notes, etc.
• Assist parent meetings and attend parent meetings.
• Ride school bus in the absence of paraprofessional to ensure the safety of children.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the proper authority.
