Job summary

Acelero Learning Delaware seeks a Substitute Preschool Teacher to support a Head Start classroom for children aged 3 to 4. You will collaborate with one other teacher to run a classroom of 14–20 children, covering locations throughout the county as needed.

The role emphasizes curriculum adherence, child development goals, and family engagement in a mission-driven program. A high school diploma and clear background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences advancing literacy, phonemic awareness, language, and numeracy.
• Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment with proper supervision.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance.
• Interacts with children in a supportive manner.
• Encourages family involvement in Head Start program.
• Works effectively with other teachers in the classroom and center.
• Follows all policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and center operations.
• Maintains schedule and communicates changes to Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist.
• Participates in meetings, events and training as required.
