Job summary

NACOG in Flagstaff, AZ, seeks a preschool teacher to guide social, physical, and intellectual growth under general supervision. You will develop weekly lesson plans, build strong relationships with families, and ensure program compliance through documentation and assessments.

We welcome candidates with a CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education, plus state certificates. Strong classroom management, communication, and a commitment to Head Start standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Level I: CDA or state equivalent to teach preschool.
• Level II: Associate degree in ECE or related field with CDA or state certificate.
• Level III: BA/BS in ECE or related field with state certificate.
• Level IV: Master’s in ECE and 36 credits in ECE beyond undergrad.

Responsibilities

• Instructs children and facilitates developmentally appropriate activities.
• Develops and maintains trusting relationships with children and families.
• Develops and implements weekly lesson plans to ensure program compliance.
• Assigns duties to staff and monitors work.
• Completes and submits paperwork to document program compliance.
• Cleans and prepares classrooms for a safe learning environment.
• Conducts health screenings for Head Start children.
• Plans and conducts parent-teacher conferences to assess family goals.
