Job summary

Graceworks Lutheran Services, through The Children’s Center Head Start program in Suffolk, seeks a dedicated preschool teacher to lead a nurturing classroom. You’ll implement Creative Curriculum, engage children with structured activities, and partner with families to support development.

Requirements include 1–3 years in early childhood, CPR/First Aid, a valid driver's license, and familiarity with Virginia licensing. Benefits include holidays, vacation, 401K and comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education Infant/Toddler or Preschool Certificate or higher.
• 1-3 years of experience in an early childhood setting is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• 14 paid holidays.

Responsibilities

• Implement our research-based Creative Curriculum that promotes discovery and exploration as a way of learning.
• Lead structured activities both in the classroom and on the playground.
• Ensure Virginia Licensing and Head Start/Early Head Start regulations are followed for child safety and high-quality classrooms.
• Communicate with parents to build healthy partnerships that support child development.
• Contribute to building an educational foundation for cognitive, emotional, and physical growth.
