Head Start Cooks will work within the UW Oshkosh Head Start program, which is a federally funded preschool program for low‑income families. Head Start employees have the opportunity to work with 384 children and their families every school year. The program has seven centers in five different cities throughout Winnebago, Calumet, Outagamie, and Shawano Counties.

Hiring Incentive

New hires working 21 hours or more per week will receive a $500.00 bonus after working 90 days. New hires working 20 hours or less per week will receive a $250.00 bonus after the 90‑day period.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Perform routine and non‑routine food preparation activities, including cook‑to‑order and specialty foods.
• Adhere to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Greet customers, answer questions, and provide information regarding food preparation and associated activities.

Compensation

Hourly: $15.80 – $16.27
