Job summary

Berkeley Heights Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia is seeking a dedicated Head Start/Pre-K Bus Driver to transport preschoolers to morning and afternoon sessions, field trips, and family activities.

The position requires a valid CDL and WV School Bus Operator’s certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a patient, safety‑minded approach. You will work with staff, families, and Head Start leadership to maintain a positive, caring bus environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL license and WV School Bus Operator’s certification.
• Must have high school diploma, GED/TASC, or equivalent.
• Preference will be given to candidates with school bus driving experience.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with young children.
• Preference will be given to bilingual or multilingual applicants.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks before and after each run.
• Follow all laws and safety guidelines when operating the bus.
• Safely transport students and/or supplies as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy bus environment for students.
• Provide warm, high-quality adult/child interaction with students.
• Provide positive interactions with parents.
• Work collaboratively and professionally with all support personnel.
• Deliver the bus to the local garage for maintenance as needed.
• Maintain records and provide reports as assigned.
• Participate in meetings and/or professional development as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
