Job summary

CEO’s Early Head Start/Head Start program seeks a Behavior Specialist to support classrooms, staff, and children with behavior management strategies. The role focuses on implementing individualized behavior plans and collaborating with staff to monitor progress and plan improvements.

Responsibilities include conducting observations, providing training, and ensuring program quality across center sites, with a focus on developmentally appropriate interventions for children with special needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience working with preschool children with challenging behaviors.
• Background in Special Education and Behavior Management is preferred.
• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education or related field preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S without Visa Sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide short and long-term positive behavior support to classrooms, staff, and children.
• Model interventions for staff when a child displays challenging behavior.
• Utilize positive behavior support strategies consistently across classrooms.
• Provide supports based on individualized special education needs.
• Collaborate with staff to develop and monitor child behavior plans.
• Conduct site visits and classroom observations to ensure quality and compliance.
• Offer training, coaching, and support to classrooms on behavior management.
• Support School Readiness efforts in collaboration with program management.
