Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with MSDE 9-hour communications class.
• 90-hour ECE certification and one year preschool experience OR college credits equivalent to one year experience.
• Assistant Teacher II requires CDA with 9-hour MSDE communications class or 90-hour ECE cert plus 30 ECE college credits.
• Assistant Teacher III requires AA or higher with approved ECE coursework or teaching certificate for early childhood.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children at all times and ensure safety.
• Arrange classroom to be welcoming and developmentally appropriate.
• Assist in implementing curriculum meeting Head Start standards.
• Support social, physical and language development through guided activities.
• Build positive relationships with families and engage them in learning.
