Job Objective and Scope:

Head – Quality, HSE & Operational Systems provides executive leadership and strategic direction for the organization’s Integrated Management System (IMS), encompassing Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental compliance, operational excellence, facilities governance, and global reporting across all US operations. This position - enterprise quality governance, safety and environmental stewardship, facilities oversight, and global performance reporting to uphold regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive scalable business performance. The position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Commercial, IT, and Executive Management.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Executive Leadership
  • Establish and execute regional strategies for Quality, HSE, Operational Systems, and Compliance aligned with corporate objectives
  • Serve as executive sponsor for enterprise risk management, safety culture, and governance framework.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on performance, risks, and compliance to senior leadership
  • Drive organizational accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Integrated Management System (IMS) Governance
  • Serve as executive owner of the Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Ensure alignment of IMS processes with organizational policies; ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001; industry standards; regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate monthly joint management meetings with all site and functional managers to review all open nonconformances, confirm corrective action progress and on‑time closure, ensure robust root cause analysis for nonconformities that are systemic or pose significant IMS risk and escalate unresolved or high‑risk issues as required
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and drive systemic improvement
Training, Competency & Workforce Development
  • Determine required training for each employee based on job descriptions, assigned duties and tasks. regulatory and ISO requirements and risk exposure and competency needs
  • Ensure training requirements are clearly defined, documented, and maintained within the LMS and IMS
  • Oversee development and deployment of training content using available resources, including: Camtasia, Audacity, AWS Amazon Polly, Mobile and video recording tools (e.g., iPhone)
  • Produce and maintain training videos for inclusion in the LMS video library addressing, but not limited to Emergency Action Plans (EAP / EEAP); Evacuation Warden Training; Safety and environmental compliance training; Job-specific and specialty training as required
  • Ensure training content is accurate, consistent, auditable, aligned with regulatory and ISO expectations
  • Monitor training completion, effectiveness, and retraining requirements
  • Support audits by demonstrating workforce competence and training effectiveness
Quality Management Systems
  • Own and govern the enterprise Quality Management System
  • Lead internal audits, management reviews, and certification activities
  • Oversee: CAPA programs; Nonconformance management; Root cause analysis; Customer complaint resolution
  • Drive reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and improvement of key quality KPIs
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Leadership
  • Lead all occupational health, safety, and environmental programs across the Americas
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Plan and execute quarterly safety meetings to meet organizational and regulatory requirements
  • Perform periodic safety inspections to verify compliance with Organizational policies; Regulatory standards; ISO 45001 and industry best practices
  • Drive reduction of TRIR, DART, and lost‑time incidents
  • Lead emergency preparedness, crisis management, and business continuity planning
External Audits & Global Reporting
  • Serve as executive owner for all external certification bodies, including DNV
  • Manage and coordinate: External audits; Surveillance audits; Recertification audits; Multi‑site audit programs
  • Ensure timely closure of audit findings
Global Reporting Responsibilities
  • Own and govern global reporting across all Americas sites, including Audit Results and compliance status; Quality KPIs and IMS performance metrics; Approved Supplier Lists; Injury and incident reporting; Environmental and sustainability reporting
  • E nsure data accuracy, consistency, and transparency
  • Present consolidated dashboards to executive leadership and corporate stakeholders
Facilities & Critical Infrastructure Management
  • Executive accountability for safety, compliance, and reliability of site facilities
  • Oversee: Overhead cranes and lifting systems; Industrial water systems and testing; Security gates and access controls; Alarm and monitoring systems
  • Ensure inspections, preventative maintenance, and regulatory compliance
Administration, Compliance & Risk Governance
  • Conduct executive-level customer reviews of Quality and HSE performance
  • Support Commercial teams during insurance audits and risk assessments
  • Develop and approve written Safety programs; Environmental policies; Risk management procedures
  • Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and inspectors
  • Consult department managers on matters affecting the IMS to ensure compliance
  • Govern supplier qualification, audits, and performance monitoring
  • Maintain and approve global Approved Supplier Lists
  • Lead customer audits and quality escalations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Safety, Environmental Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 10+ years progressive leadership in manufacturing or OEM environments
  • ISO 9001-2015 and ISO 45001 certifications are mandatory. Lead auditor experience is a plus.
  • Safety professional certification is a plus.
  • Multi‑site leadership experience across Quality, HSE, and compliance systems is a plus
  • Six‑sigma black belt certification is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel overseas when required to participate in NEA group global quality meetings
  • Travel to local supplier facilities for audit as needed
