Southern Textile Service, Inc. in South Hill, VA is seeking an experienced Head Plant Engineer / Maintenance Manager for our local facility.

This full-time leadership role oversees equipment reliability, facilities, utilities, and capital projects, guiding a maintenance team to ensure optimal plant performance. You will lead preventive maintenance programs, track KPIs, manage boilers and plant utilities, and troubleshoot mechanical and PLC-driven systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience, including 3–5 years in a team leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of boilers, air compressors, hydraulics/pneumatics, electrical/PLCs, and welding.
• Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills; able to lift/pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and schedule the maintenance team, including emergency coverage.
• Build and improve preventive/predictive maintenance programs; track KPIs like uptime, MTBF, and MTTR.
• Oversee boilers, air compressors, and plant utility systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-driven systems.
• Support capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Pay: $100,000–$110,000 per year

Southern Textile Service is seeking an experienced Head Plant Engineer / Maintenance Manager for our South Hill, VA facility — a family‑owned regional company serving customers since 1934.

You’ll bring 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience, leading the team while overseeing equipment reliability, facilities, utilities, and capital projects.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach, and schedule the maintenance team, including emergency coverage
• Build and improve preventative/predictive maintenance programs; track KPIs like uptime, MTBF, and MTTR
• Oversee boilers, air compressors, and plant utility systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-driven systems
• Support capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Need
