Job description

Description

Bring Your Game. Build the Program. Make Every Point Count!

Are you passionate about Pickleball, love being around people, and know how to turn a great game into a great experience?

Horseshoe Bay Resort is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Head Pickleball Professional to lead our Pickleball program and help take it to the next level!

This is your opportunity to put your personality, leadership, and Pickleball expertise to work at a premier resort where our members and guests come to play, connect, compete, and have a great time.

As our Head Pickleball Professional, you'll be the face of the program—on the court, in the shop, at events, and everywhere in between. You'll have the freedom to create exciting programming, build relationships, and develop experiences that keep our members coming back for more.

Let’s Talk About the Fun Part

You'll lead the Pickleball program from start to finish, creating a mix of activities that keeps everyone engaged—from beginners picking up a paddle for the first time to experienced players looking for their next challenge.

You'll:

  • Lead daily Pickleball operations and bring energy to everything happening on the courts.
  • Create and develop lessons, clinics, leagues, socials, mixers, tournaments, match play, and interclub activities.
  • Teach private lessons and group clinics while helping players improve their game and have fun doing it.
  • Create new events and programming that keep our members excited and involved.
  • Build relationships with members and guests and become someone they look forward to seeing on the court.
  • Bring a positive, enthusiastic attitude to every lesson, event, and interaction.
  • Work alongside the Racquets team to create a seamless experience across the entire department.
Be the Leader Off the Court, Too

Great Pickleball programs don't happen by themselves. You'll help lead the people and operations that make everything come together.

You'll oversee the Baseline Shop staff, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance reviews. You'll help your team grow, stay motivated, and deliver the level of service our members and guests expect.

You'll also work with Resort leadership to identify challenges, find solutions, improve processes, and continually look for ways to make the Pickleball experience even better.

What You’ll Bring

We're looking for someone who is confident on the court, comfortable in front of a crowd, and genuinely enjoys making people feel welcome.

You should have:

  • Previous club, resort, or racquets experience preferred.
  • Strong teaching and playing abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and people skills.
  • The ability to train, motivate, and bring out the best in others.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with computers and POS systems.
  • A self-starter attitude and the ability to take ownership.
  • A willingness to learn, improve, and stay current with the Pickleball industry.
  • The ability to see an opportunity, solve a problem, and make things happen.
  • Professional references that can speak to your experience and leadership.
What Makes This Opportunity Special?

You're not stepping into a role where everything has already been written for you.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape the program.

Bring your ideas. Try new things. Create events. Build relationships. Grow participation. Help players fall in love with the game.

Most importantly, create an environment where our members and guests can't wait to come back to the courts.

The Active Part

This is a hands-on, on-the-court position, so you'll need to be comfortable staying active throughout the day.

The position requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and movement around the courts and Resort. You may regularly lift up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

You’ll also spend time outdoors and should be comfortable working in changing weather conditions.

Weekend, evening, holiday, tournament, and special-event availability will be required based on business needs.

Ready to Pickleball Your Way Into Your Next Career?

If you’re ready to lead, teach, create, compete, and have some fun along the way, we want to hear from you.

Bring your paddle. Bring your personality. Bring your passion.

Let’s make something great happen on the courts at Horseshoe Bay Resort!
