Job summary

California Baptist University’s Dr. Robert K. Jabs School of Business seeks a Director of Web Applications Development to lead the campus web app portfolio. You will guide developers, architect solutions, and drive modern, secure, accessible enterprise web platforms that support academic and administrative missions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders, roadmap-driven delivery, and ensuring high-quality service across web apps, APIs, and integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in web app development, systems integration, or software engineering.
• At least three years of supervisory or technical leadership experience.
• Experience in higher education or complex service-oriented environments preferred.
• Equivalency of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and leadership for developers and staff supporting web apps, APIs, and related solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into sustainable technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap for web applications and platforms.
• Plan and manage concurrent projects, milestones, budgets, and risks.
• Establish secure development lifecycle practices and code standards.
• Ensure compliance with information security requirements and accessibility standards.
• Oversee data access, integrations, and hosting environments; coordinate vendor work.
• Represent ITS in committees and ensure a customer-centered culture.
