Job summary

Praxis Precision Medicines, Inc. seeks a Director, Toxicology to lead nonclinical safety across CNS therapies, shaping strategy from discovery to IND-enabling development.

You will oversee GLP/non-GLP studies, evaluate safety findings, interact with FDA and global authorities, and guide CROs and internal teams. Remote-ready with travel as needed.

Ideal candidate has 8+ years in biotech/pharma toxicology, DABT preferred, strong regulatory judgment, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in toxicology, pharmacology, pharmacy, biology, or related field.
• DABT certification desirable.
• 8+ years in biotech/pharma or CRO with nonclinical safety leadership.
• Strong regulatory knowledge (ICH/FDA) and GLP oversight.
• Experience leading toxicology teams and mentoring staff.
• Ability to communicate risk and recommendations clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own nonclinical safety strategy for assigned programs, ensuring plans support development and regulatory milestones.
• Design and oversee discovery, exploratory, investigative, and regulatory toxicology studies, GLP and non-GLP.
• Evaluate emerging safety findings and recommend clear paths forward for development teams.
• Lead regulatory toxicology activities and responses to health authorities.
• Direct CROs, consultants, and external partners with accountability for quality and timelines.
• Partner across functions to integrate nonclinical safety into program strategy and decision-making.
• Represent Nonclinical Safety on cross-functional teams and communicate risks clearly.
