Job summary

Bachem Americas is seeking a Senior Director, Technical Operations to lead the local Technical Operations team and assure robust, compliant manufacturing support across clinical and commercial programs.

You will drive technology transfers, validation, and lifecycle management while partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and R&D to strengthen operational excellence and readiness for inspections.

Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in chemical/biochemical engineering or related field.
10+ years GMP experience in pharma/biotech manufacturing environments.
5+ years senior leadership in Technical Operations or related technical function.
Strong knowledge of GMP, quality systems, regulatory frameworks, and inspections.
Proven ability to lead technology transfers and process optimization.
Experience with digital tools, data analytics, and monitoring.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and budgets.

Responsibilities

Lead local Technical Operations and ensure readiness aligned with site strategy and regulatory expectations.
Oversee manufacturing science, technology transfers, product stewardship, validation support, and lifecycle management.
Drive efficiency, process robustness, and operational excellence for clinical and commercial products.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support launches, ramps, and new product introductions.
Align automation and digitalization priorities with long-term site capabilities and standards.
Represent Technical Operations in site leadership discussions and global TechOps networks.
