Onyx Alpha Partners seeks to found and lead a new systematic macro vertical with full ownership of the book. You will hire the team, set the research agenda, allocate risk, and own the P&L from day one.

The role is about building a scalable, research-driven edge using signals and rigorous portfolio construction, not a traditional research seat. You will scale capital, manage drawdowns, and define execution for the new book.

Qualifications

• Track record in systematic macro research or trading.
• Experience building a strategy or team from scratch.
• Depth in rates, FX, commodities or cross-asset macro.
• Evidence of leading senior researchers: hiring and setting standards.
• End-to-end ideas: hypothesis, validation, sizing, risk, outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale the macro systematic vertical.
• Hire and lead the research team and define standards.
• Set the research agenda and manage risk budget.
• Own P&L, drawdown controls and performance.
• Scale capital from zero to a larger allocation.
