YOUR ROLE

As the Head of Strategy, you will play a critical role in developing business unit strategy and the execution of CareScout’ s portfolio of strategic initiatives in conjunction with CareScout leadership team. A key part of the role is to apply a customer-centric &data-based approach as we identify, prioritize, build and develop future winning business models in the aging care space.

What you will be doing

  • Develop a strong understanding of the business’ strategy, our competitive environment and market trends, and our organizational capabilities
  • Proactively identify pockets of opportunity where CareScout has a reasonable chance to win and build relevant business cases and lead Leadership team through prioritization decisions
  • Develop and articulate new future state strategies based on an understanding of our customers’ unmet needs as well as CareScout and Genworth business capabilities
  • Identify, structure, and surface key issues across the portfolio of initiatives, helping to resolve roadblocks or reprioritize efforts to maximize output
  • Serve as advisor to CEO and CareScout Leadership team (CSLT), helping to problem solve, define issues, and using a question-based approach to challenge our thinking to elevate the business
  • Help adjust operating model to fit strategic direction if necessary, identifying capabilities that require investment, articulating and prioritizing goals for operations.
  • Evolve and maintain performance review for the business, curating critical growth and expense KPIs alongside CFO to ensure CSLT understands drivers and focus on key issues to solve or wins to celebrate
  • Work collaboratively with CEO, CRO/CSO, and CHRO to structure and help lead CareScout Leadership offsites and staff meetings to enhance leadership effectiveness
  • Drive ongoing and ad-hoc competitive and market intelligence efforts through network of vendor partners
  • In close conjunction with the GCS Leadership Team and CareScout CFO, prepare materials for the Genworth Leadership Team and the Genworth Board of Directors, plus additional internal and external audiences as necessary

What you bring

  • Significant experience working with corporations (ideally high growth startups, top tier consultancies, and F500 companies) in a variety of roles across multiple functional areas and industries
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years total relevant work experience in Consulting and/or Corporate Strategy
  • A proven track record of applying qualitative and quantitative analysis to problem solving
  • Ability to apply a structured methodology to communicate and resolve issues
  • Proven capability to “tell a story” through data and structured thinking, using PowerPoint or Word
  • Understanding of the digital landscape including its impact on business models, the trends, and themes
  • Experience running Portfolio of initiatives, strategy development and execution support, business case development, opportunity analysis and identification, risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Ability to communicate effectively to CEO and Leadership team and other stakeholders
  • Collaboration skills, but with ability to challenge effectively
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, able to analyze data and develop “so whats” to push thinking
  • Strong written, spoken and listening communication skills
  • Ability to be in NY office 3 days/week
  • Ability to travel ~20% (mostly to Richmond, VA)

Nice to have

  • Prior consulting experience—Top 5 consulting firms, preferably
  • 5-10 years out of business school (MBA strongly desired)
  • Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Highly collaborative, results driven, team player
For candidates based in the New York City Metropolitan area, the base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $200,000 up to the maximum of $240,000. An employee’s pay position within the base salary pay range will be based on several factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan. The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 20% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors to ensure pay equity within the organization.
