Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced, strategic, and entrepreneurial Head of Segment Marketing to lead the go-to-market strategy for the Cloud & Service Provider segment within the Secure Power Division. This leader will translate segment strategy into differentiated positioning, customer engagement, demand creation, and commercial growth across hyperscale, colocation, cloud, AI infrastructure, and digital service provider customers.
The role serves as the senior marketing voice for the segment, connecting customer and market insight with business priorities and field execution. Success requires strong commercial judgment, executive presence, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to influence in a global matrix. The successful candidate will understand the rapidly evolving data center ecosystem and turn trends in AI, cloud, power availability, cooling, sustainability, resiliency, and speed-to-deployment into focused growth programs and compelling customer value propositions.
Key Stakeholders
- Internal: Cloud & Service Provider segment leadership, Secure Power commercial management, strategic marketing, global and regional marketing, sales, key account teams, solution architects, product management, services, sustainability, digital, channel, communications, and marketing operations.
- External: Cloud and digital service providers, hyperscalers, colocation operators, technology alliance partners, consultants, engineering firms, system integrators, channel partners, industry associations, analysts, agencies, and other data center ecosystem stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead the Cloud & Service Provider segment marketing strategy and annual plan, aligned with business growth priorities, customer needs, portfolio strategy, and regional market opportunity.
- Define priority audiences, use cases, geographies, routes to market, and investment choices across hyperscale, colocation, cloud, AI infrastructure, and digital service provider customers.
- Develop differentiated segment positioning, messaging, and value propositions that connect Schneider Electric’s power, cooling, prefabricated, digital, sustainability, and services capabilities to customer business outcomes.
- Build integrated, full-funnel programs that strengthen thought leadership, engage buying committees, create demand, accelerate strategic opportunities, and deepen relationships with named and priority accounts.
- Partner with sales and strategic account leaders to develop account-based marketing plans, executive engagement strategies, customer workshops, and opportunity acceleration programs.
- Lead ecosystem and alliance marketing with technology partners, consultants, engineering firms, integrators, and other influencers to extend reach and deliver joint customer value.
- Coordinate global and regional launches, events, digital programs, content, analyst engagement, public relations, and customer advocacy to deliver a consistent segment narrative.
- Serve as the segment’s marketing subject-matter expert and trusted advisor to business, sales, and marketing leadership; represent the customer and market perspective in strategic planning and portfolio decisions.
- Establish objectives, KPIs, and governance for segment marketing; provide executive-ready updates on market dynamics, program performance, pipeline contribution, commercial impact, risks, and recommended actions.
- Own and optimize the segment marketing budget, reallocating investment based on performance, opportunity, and strategic value.
- Synthesize customer, competitive, regulatory, technology, and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and guide segment choices, including the implications of AI workloads, higher rack densities, power constraints, liquid cooling, modular deployment, resiliency, and sustainability.
- Commission and lead targeted research, advisory work, voice-of-customer programs using internal resources and external partners as needed.
- Partner with marketing operations and sales to strengthen lead management, account engagement, opportunity conversion, attribution, and return on marketing investment.
- Provide leadership across virtual, cross-functional teams and agency partners, setting clear priorities, workstreams, decision rights, and standards for execution.
- Provide indirect day-to-day leadership to a Program Manager, including setting priorities, clarifying deliverables, coordinating workload, removing roadblocks, and providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development support.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive B2B marketing, segment marketing, product marketing, strategic marketing, or sales experience, including experience leading complex go-to-market programs.
- Demonstrated success developing end-to-end marketing strategy and executing integrated, multi-touch programs that contribute to pipeline, revenue, customer engagement, or market share.
- Experience in data centers, cloud infrastructure, colocation, critical power, cooling, digital infrastructure, or a related technology or energy market strongly preferred.
- Experience partnering directly with senior sales leaders, strategic accounts, customers, and ecosystem partners in a global matrix organization.
Skills
- Strong strategic orientation with the ability to connect market insight, customer needs, technology trends, and commercial priorities.
- Executive presence and exceptional written, verbal, storytelling, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Deep customer orientation and the ability to engage credibly with technical, operational, sustainability, procurement, and executive stakeholders.
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority, align diverse stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity and change.
- Strong commercial acumen and fluency in segmentation, positioning, account-based marketing, demand generation, customer advocacy, and partner marketing.
- Analytical discipline with the ability to define KPIs, interpret performance data, generate insight, and make evidence-based investment decisions.
- Excellent program, portfolio, budget, and agency management skills; able to balance long-term strategy with disciplined execution.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple priorities and high executive visibility.
- Working knowledge of CRM, marketing automation, account-based marketing, analytics, and productivity platforms; experience with Salesforce and or equivalent tools preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and provide effective day-to-day direction, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and prioritization to an indirectly managed team member; broader people leadership or experience leading virtual teams and external partners is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field required; advanced degree is an asset.
