Job summary

Motive is seeking a Senior Manager, Security Operations to build and lead Motive's SOC. This is a founding leadership role reporting to the CISO, owning the full detection and response lifecycle across cloud, endpoints, identity and data platforms.

You will shape the tooling and operating model, establish 24/7 coverage, and drive an AI-first, data-driven approach with a small, senior team. Expect high-impact incident leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in security operations, incident response, detection engineering or threat intelligence
• 3+ years leading teams
• Hands-on—written detections, run investigations, led incidents
• Experience building or rebuilding a SOC function
• Strong detection engineering and automation skills
• Cloud and container security monitoring with AWS and Kubernetes

Responsibilities

• Stand up and grow the SOC, define 24/7 coverage model
• Own detection strategy across estates and map to MITRE ATT&CK
• Extend detection into production and cloud workloads
• Own 24/7 incident response and serve as incident commander
• Own security telemetry, analytics platform, and tooling
• Establish threat hunting and threat intelligence capabilities
• Own EDR across corporate fleet and production protection
• Oversee phishing and social engineering defense with Compliance
• Architect the AI-first operating model for the SOC
