Job summary

The San Francisco Symphony is seeking an Associate Director, Secondary Education Programs to lead the design, management, and improvement of the Orchestra's education programs serving middle and high school students, including the Music and Mentors program with SFUSD.

The role oversees 25+ teaching artists, coordinates campus activities across 23 sites, and drives program evaluation, partnerships, and scholarship administration; hybrid schedule at Davies Symphony Hall with evening/ weekend

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in music or related field, or 5–7 years in arts education administration.
Extensive knowledge of instrumental music and orchestral strings.
Experience working with K–12 educators, students, and teaching artists.
Knowledge of program budgeting and payroll processes.

Responsibilities

Lead design, implementation, and improvement of secondary education initiatives across 23 SFUSD campuses.
Recruit, contract, train, and supervise 25+ teaching artists; ensure policy compliance.
Oversee instrument logistics, repairs, and vendor coordination; manage resources.
Coordinate student ticketing and concert engagement at Davies Symphony Hall.
Administer Crescendo Scholarship; report quarterly to Development for donors.
