Job summary

Lila Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Scientific System of Record team, building user-facing surfaces and core LIMS applications in Cambridge, MA.

You will guide engineers to translate complex scientific workflows into reliable software used by scientists, technicians, and AI agents. You will set the technical vision, grow the team, shape the roadmap, and ensure the system of record for scientific operations is trustworthy and easy to use.

Qualifications

• For 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership in production software.
• 3+ years of engineering management with hiring and mentoring.
• Strong depth in full-stack development and system architecture.
• Experience designing operating APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience building products for complex, workflow-driven environments.
• Excellent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of interfaces and applications for samples, experiments, protocols, and lab operations.
• Set technical direction across front-end, back-end, APIs, and data architecture.
• Build and lead a high-performing engineering team with hiring and mentorship.
• Collaborate with product and scientific stakeholders to define priorities.
• Ensure LIMS surfaces integrate with automation, data, ML, and platform systems.
• Establish practices for correctness, auditability, provenance and reliability.
• Align teams to drive initiatives into production.
