Zoox is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Robot Data Visualization team, delivering fast, scalable, highly usable tools for internal engineers. The role spans single-vehicle introspection and fleet analytics, combining frontend graphics with high-performance backend systems.

You will mentor engineers, shape the technical roadmap, and push browser performance boundaries to support complex 3D rendering and time-series data, while collaborating closely with autonomy and safety teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing, recruiting, and developing high-performing software engineering teams.
• 7+ years of experience in software development for data-intensive web apps or developer tooling.
• Direct experience or leadership in pushing browser execution limits (WebGL/Three.js, WebAssembly, or large data streaming).
• Strong dedication to technical user experience and intuitive UI design for developer workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of frontend graphics and high-performance backend engineers.
• Own the technical roadmap across dual product lines: single-vehicle introspection tools and fleet analytics.
• Architect strategies to push browser performance while handling 3D rendering, time-series data, video streaming, and maps.
• Drive usability improvements and expand capabilities for internal engineers to diagnose edge cases and assess fleet performance.
• Collaborate with autonomy, safety, and infrastructure teams to translate complex workflows into visualizations.
• Foster an inclusive, high-impact engineering culture focused on excellence and mentorship.
