Job summary

Ambral Labs is seeking a Head of Research to own the research agenda and production systems for our replayable enterprise environment engine. You will identify high-leverage questions, design experiments, and stay deeply hands-on building the systems that translate research into production.

You will scale our environments to thousands of runs, improve evaluative methods, and help recruit an exceptional research team while collaborating with the CTO and wider leadership.

Qualifications

• PhD in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent research track record.
• Deep experience in reinforcement learning, LLM post-training, evals, or related areas.
• Ability to take ambitious research problems from hypothesis to working systems.
• Comfort turning fuzzy business objectives into measurable tasks and signals.

Responsibilities

• Own the research agenda and production systems enabling the replayable environments.
• Design experiments to answer high-leverage technical questions and observe outcomes.
• Remain hands-on building the systems that turn research into production.
• Scale from individual environments to thousands of concurrent runs and ensure evaluability.
• Lead and help recruit a high-performing research team and establish rigorous culture.
