Job summary

Thespian Labs, an embodied intelligence research lab, seeks a hands-on VP of Engineering to build and lead the team turning research into real-world products. You will own product engineering, deployment pipelines, cloud operations, and MLOps across the model lifecycle, delivering real-time, reliable systems.

You will hire and grow engineers, set rigorous technical direction, and craft a fast, focused roadmap suitable for an early-stage startup with a strong emphasis on execution and impact.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and shipping large-scale systems, ideally ML or infrastructure-heavy.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams, hiring, mentoring, and setting technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the engineering team, hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers, and shaping culture.
• Run product engineering, delivery and deployment end-to-end, CI/CD, and the platform that ships to customers.
• Manage cloud operations, infrastructure, security, uptime, and cost.
• Establish MLOps across the model lifecycle from training to serving and monitoring.
• Ensure real-time inference with low latency on physical and digital agents.
