Job summary

Akkar is seeking a Senior Director of Product Security to invent and lead the security function for a world‑class physical-AI platform. The role reports to the COO and has authority to define strategy, build the team and embed security from ground up.

You will collaborate across hardware, embedded software, AI/ML and systems teams to design security-by-design, secure OTA updates, and safety-critical protections for deployed robots.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in security engineering or product security.
• 5+ years leading security organisations.
• Embedded systems/ robotics / physical products experience.
• Security monitoring and incident response in production.
• Translate security risk into engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Product Security strategy and roadmap.
• Build and lead Product Security organisation, hiring and mentoring.
• Establish monitoring, detection, escalation and incident response for deployed robots.
• Collaborate with hardware, embedded software, systems and AI/ML teams for security-by-design.
• Define security requirements for secure boot, firmware, cryptographic keys, communications, OS hardening, AI integrity.
• Own OTA security: updates, integrity verification, rollback protection.
• Establish product security review and sign-off processes for new features and releases.
• Define supply-chain and third-party security requirements across hardware and partners.
• Define physical security, anti-tamper and anti-cloning protections.
• Build escalation frameworks, SLAs and incident-management processes.
• Support customer security reviews and enterprise deployments.
• Advise leadership on regulatory considerations across global deployments.
