Job summary

Xcimer Energy seeks a Vice President of Human Resources to lead the People strategy for a rapidly growing engineering organization in fusion energy. You will act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, shaping leadership, culture, and people infrastructure to accelerate scale from R&D to commercialization across multiple sites.

Reporting to the CEO, you will supervise HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, HR Operations, Learning & Development, Organizational Design, and Employee Experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, organizational psychology, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive HR leadership, including executive-level roles in high-growth tech/engineering orgs.
• Experience scaling organizations during rapid growth with modern HR systems and leadership capability.
• Proven experience partnering with executive leadership teams on organizational strategy and executive decision-making.
• Deep expertise across organizational design, leadership development, employee relations, total rewards, performance management, HR operations, compliance, and workforce planning.
• Experience building and leading high-performing HR teams.
• Experience shaping culture through leadership development and organizational design.
• Strong business acumen linking people strategy to performance.
• Exceptional executive communication and change management.
• Experience using HR technology, analytics, and workforce data.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Executive Leadership Team on strategy, leadership effectiveness, workforce planning, and culture.
• Define and reinforce cultural principles and leadership expectations for growth.
• Develop and execute a long-term People strategy to support rapid growth across sites.
• Build and lead HR organization across Business Partners, Total Rewards, HR Ops, Learning & Development, and more.
• Partner on organizational design, executive coaching, and succession planning.
• Develop leadership principles that drive accountability and collaboration across teams.
• Oversee compensation, equity, performance, promotions, and development programs.
• Create scalable people systems, policies, and operating rhythms.
• Establish onboarding, feedback, recognition, and leadership rituals.
• Drive workforce planning to retain exceptional talent.
• Monitor engagement, retention, and culture health with analytics.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and governance.
• Lead HR technology, analytics, reporting, and workforce insights.
• Support onboarding, leadership development, and internal mobility programs.
• Serve as a visible leader and culture champion.
