Job summary

Pelico in Boston/Miami is seeking a senior optimization leader to define and drive the strategy for our AI-native factory operations platform. You will lead multi‑quarter roadmaps, balance make/buy decisions, and align optimization work with product and customer outcomes.

Based in the US with flexibility to relocate, you will mentor top engineers, publish research, and partner with universities while shaping Pelico’s technical direction and growth in manufacturing planning.

Qualifications

PhD in OR, Applied Math, or related field with senior track record.
Deep expertise in combinatorial optimization, MILP/LP/CP, and simulation.
Strong ability to publish, speak, and partner with universities/research labs.
Hands-on coding and designing optimization systems for production environments.

Responsibilities

Own the optimization strategy: define vision and multi-quarter roadmap aligned to company objectives.
Build and lead the optimization team from the ground up, hiring and setting technical bar.
Represent Pelico's OR to the world through thought leadership, talks, and field partnerships.
Back the commercial front with pre-sales credibility and trusted technical relationships.
Own core optimization problems: multi-objective, uncertainty, and stock/safety-policy optimization.
Ensure explainability, trust, and adoption by planners and AI agents.
Lead by example: author models, specs, code, and mentor engineers.
