Job summary

Upstart seeks a Director of Product, Machine Learning & Decisioning Platforms to lead the strategy and teams powering credit decisioning and ML platform capabilities. This is a highly technical, platform-focused leadership role at the core of Upstart’s business.

You will manage a team of senior product managers, align with engineering and ML leaders, and shape the roadmap from model deployment to scalable, data-driven decisioning.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience, including leading technical or platform products.
• Experience managing and developing product managers across multiple teams.
• Strong technical fluency and experience partnering with engineering, ML, and data science teams.
• Ability to set strategy, navigate ambiguity, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers with clear priorities.
• Define the product strategy and roadmap for platforms powering decisioning and ML capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering and ML leaders to improve model development, deployment, and monitoring.
• Evolve underwriting and decisioning systems to connect data, model outputs, and business outcomes.
• Identify ML opportunities and build scalable products from MVPs.
• Create scalable data-vendor onboarding and integration processes.
• Balance near-term execution with long-term platform investments.
• Ensure ML is embedded in product strategy from the start.
