Job summary

Chain IQ is seeking a seasoned Head of Logistics Sourcing to lead strategic sourcing across transportation, warehousing, and 3PL categories. You will manage a multi-million-dollar logistics spend and guide supplier strategy, cost optimization, and resilience initiatives.

The role requires 8+ years in strategic sourcing, with 2–3 years in people leadership, and a proven track record in transportation, warehousing, or 3PL sourcing. Strong negotiations and TCO expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of strategic sourcing and/or category management experience.
• 2–3 years of people leadership within procurement or sourcing.
• Proven expertise in transportation, logistics, warehousing, or 3PL sourcing.
• Strong track record of delivering cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and value creation.
• Experience leading complex sourcing events, negotiations, and contract management.
• Solid understanding of TCO and category strategy development.
• Experience in matrixed, multi-stakeholder organizations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Logistics Sourcing to lead strategic sourcing activities across transportation, warehousing, and related operational categories. This role combines category leadership, stakeholder engagement, supplier strategy, and people leadership within a dynamic international environment.

You will lead a team of sourcing professionals while managing a multimillion-dollar logistics spend portfolio across transportation and warehousing categories. The successful candidate will drive sourcing strategies that deliver cost optimization, supply chain resilience, supplier performance improvements, and long-term business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies across transportation, warehousing, 3PL, and related logistics categories.
• Lead complex RFPs, RFQs, commercial negotiations, and contract execution.
• Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation, and risk mitigation.
• Lead Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), benchmarking, market analysis, and should-cost initiatives.
• Identify and deliver value creation opportunities through demand management, process optimization, and supplier consolidation.
• Partner with senior business stakeholders to align procurement objectives with operational requirements.
• Monitor market trends, capacity constraints, inflationary impacts, and supply chain developments to inform sourcing strategies.
• Lead and develop a team of sourcing professionals, providing coaching, direction, and performance management.
• Drive continuous improvement, sustainability initiatives, and best-practice sourcing processes across the category portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of strategic sourcing and/or category management experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years of people leadership experience within procurement or sourcing environments.
• Proven expertise in transportation, logistics, warehousing, or 3PL sourcing.
• Strong track record of delivering cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and commercial value.
• Experience leading complex sourcing events, negotiations, and contract management activities.
• Strong understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and category strategy development.
• Experience working within complex, matrixed, and multi-stakeholder organizations.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

Total compensation for this position ranges from USD 130,000 to USD 180,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
