Job description

About Nexus

You don't have an AI story if you don't have your data story. That's where NexusOne comes in.

We're the converged data platform for the AI era — composable by design, built on an open-source foundation, and AI-native from the ground up. One identity, one governance envelope, one operational layer across every mainframe, data lake, warehouse, and streaming system in the business. For the first time, enterprises can bring their existing stack along instead of rebuilding it — and still give AI agents full context across the estate.

What we stand for is simple: sovereign data, interoperable systems, decoupled intelligence — delivered the way modern software should be. No rip-and-replace. No multi-year transformation. Our CEO Anu Jain puts it well: we turn the "ball of yarn" of data integrations into a unified engine — less like assembling car parts, more like buying the car ready to drive. 85+ open-source tools pre-integrated. AI-native automations that deploy and self-heal the stack without human toil. Forward-deployed engineers who build shoulder-to-shoulder with customer teams — hands on keyboards, not just on decks.

It's working, and fast. We're tripling revenue year over year, backed by Insight Partners, and running in production in environments most vendors won't touch. Our platform processes credit risk data for 90%+ of US small businesses — 40M+ — every month. Intent signals for 300M+ subscribers monthly for Africa's largest telco. The data and AI layer for a Top 3 US bank.

We're 100+ people across the US and India, headquartered in Atlanta. We think big, move fast, and don't mistake activity for progress. We hire people who'd rather ship the rocket than brief someone on it.

About the role

We are hiring an in-house IT leader to own corporate IT delivery as we scale. You will build a high-trust, high-velocity IT function supporting a fast-growing, engineering-heavy company with employees across the US and India. This role is both hands-on and strategic—you will run day-to-day IT operations, manage vendor performance, and partner closely with Security and Compliance to maintain strong controls without slowing the business.

What You Will Own
  • Onboarding and offboarding process
    • Design and manage streamlined onboarding and offboarding workflows leveraging Rippling IT.
    • Ensure consistent provisioning and deprovisioning of access, devices, and accounts across the organization.
  • Asset management and refresh
    • Own device lifecycle management, including procurement, inventory tracking, and hardware refresh cycles for Mac and Windows fleets.
    • Maintain accurate asset records and optimize refresh schedules to balance cost and performance.
  • IT operations
    • Run day-to-day IT operations, including helpdesk function, escalation management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
    • Establish IT policies, standards, and service levels for a distributed workforce (US + India).
  • Migration projects
    • Lead corporate collaboration tooling migrations, including Google Workspace migration and Slack migration, using specialist partners where appropriate.
    • Plan and execute projects with clear timelines, change management, and minimal business disruption.
  • AI security and tooling
    • Evaluate and implement AI security controls and tooling to protect against emerging risks.
    • Partner with Security to establish governance around AI tool usage and data protection.
  • Policy management
    • Develop and maintain IT policies that support business growth while ensuring security and compliance.
    • Ensure policies are clearly communicated and consistently enforced across the organization.
  • Security and device configurations
    • Own identity and access administration in Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace, including role-based access, MFA, and privileged access workflows.
    • Own endpoint management with Intune (or equivalent MDM) and endpoint security baselines in partnership with Security.
    • Ensure secure device configurations, endpoint hygiene, and secure remote access across all devices.
  • Vendor and spend management
    • Own vendor selection, contracts, and performance management (including MSPs and migration specialists).
    • Own licensing strategy and cost controls (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Defender, and other SaaS), reducing bloat and preventing overcharging.
  • Security and compliance partnership
    • Partner with Security/Compliance to ensure IT operations support ISO/SOC-style controls, audit readiness, evidence collection, and secure defaults.
    • Reduce risk from third-party access and unmanaged tooling.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including ownership of corporate IT in a scaling environment.
  • Proven experience leading hands-on IT operations.
  • Strong experience across:
    • Microsoft 365 administration and Google Workspace administration
    • Entra ID (Azure AD), identity and access practices
    • Intune (or equivalent) and endpoint lifecycle management
    • Mixed Mac + Windows environments
    • Rippling IT or similar HR/IT platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors and MSPs with clear SOWs, KPIs, and accountability.
  • Strong communication skills with executives and technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting international offices (especially India) and handling logistics, procurement, and support coverage across time zones.
  • Experience leading collaboration migrations (M365 and Google Workspace, Teams and Slack).
  • Familiarity with endpoint security tooling (for example, Microsoft Defender) and partnering with Security teams.
  • Experience with AI security governance and tooling.
  • Experience in a product and engineering-driven company.
Working style
  • Service-oriented, high ownership, and comfortable being the escalation point.
  • Pragmatic and cost-aware, with strong vendor negotiation instincts.
  • Comfortable building process without creating bureaucracy.
