Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Medical Director of Heart Failure Services to lead the development and expansion of our Heart Failure Program across seven hospitals and outpatient clinics in southwestern Virginia. The role will oversee a team of physicians and APPs, advancing both inpatient and outpatient HF care and coordinating advanced therapies including LVAD and transplant bridging.

The successful candidate will measure success through improved access, outcomes, and quality while participating

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure with Cardiac Transplantation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of physicians, Advanced Practice Providers and staff in developing the Heart Failure Program.
• Advance the Heart Failure Clinic to improve access and expand services across the network.
• Coordinate inpatient Heart Failure services including consultative, diagnostic and treatment for high risk patients.
• Evaluate patients for VAD support and bridge to transplantation in coordination with transplant centers.
