Job summary

InnerPlant is seeking a Director of Hardware Engineering & Manufacturing based in Des Moines, IA, to drive the hardware for CropVoice. You will own the hardware architecture, oversee rapid prototyping to production, and lead a growing hardware team to deliver reliable systems across crops and geographies.

The role requires extensive experience in electronics, embedded systems, sensors, optics, and manufacturing, plus a track record of partnering with contract manufacturers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Experience leading hardware product development from prototype to production.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the hardware roadmap and system architecture for CropVoice's optical, electrical, embedded, mechanical, and data-acquisition systems.
• Lead hardware product design and development from concept through design verification and field deployment.
• Oversee manufacturing transitions, DFx practices, and supplier relationships.
• Establish reliability testing programs and production controls.
• Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing hardware engineering team.
