Essex County Club, a premier private club on Boston’s North Shore, seeks a Director of Grounds to manage the golf course, tennis facilities and surrounding grounds. You will lead agronomic planning, irrigation, budgeting, and capital projects to uphold the club’s historic standards and member experience.

You will oversee a team of approximately 28 staff, manage a multi-million-dollar operating budget, and drive long-term improvements for course and grounds facilities at this renowned Northeast

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive golf course management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field preferred.
• GCSAA membership and/or certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute a comprehensive agronomic program to maintain exceptional playing conditions.
• Oversee health, performance of greens, tees, fairways, and other turf areas including tennis facilities.
• Develop water management and irrigation strategies; monitor soil and turf health.
• Lead and develop a high-performing grounds team; recruit, train, and evaluate staff.
• Manage annual operating and capital budgets; oversee purchasing and vendor relations.
