Job summary

Atlantic Fields, located just outside Hobe Sound, FL, is seeking a Director of Agronomy to lead the Golf Maintenance - Agronomy Department and ensure top-tier turf conditions across the course and related landscapes.

The role requires extensive agronomy expertise, strong budgeting skills, and proven leadership. You will oversee staff, maintenance programs, and long-term planning while upholding safety and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of golf course management experience, with a proven track record in turfgrass maintenance and conditioning.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course agronomy management.
  • Extensive knowledge of turfgrass species, soil science, irrigation systems, pest and disease management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic programs to maintain high-quality turf conditions across the course.
  • Manage fertilization, irrigation, pest and disease control, and aeration.
  • Oversee grounds, drainage, irrigation, and common areas for the project.
  • Lead and develop a team of golf course maintenance staff and landscapers.
  • Prepare annual departmental budget and participate in long-term maintenance planning.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
