Your role and responsibilities

Owner of the long-term commercial and customer strategies to achieve success of ABB Motion Business Area strategy for the Data Center global segment. Lead the understanding and strategy development to address the rapidly changing technologies for cooling and back-up power. Leads the executive level relationships with hyperscale and enterprise and data center industry. Develop and lead a team of key account managers and reinforce global sales efficiency and performance. Ensure the Motion Business area substantially grows sales, market share and customer satisfaction in the data center market. Develop and implement a market-based strategy including direct, third party and project sales for Data Center segment. Build relationships with key internal and external influencers/key customers and leverage ABB strengths to capture new business opportunities. Drive and enhance cross-division, cross-product groups, and cross-region business-led collaboration for the specific market segment. The work model for the role is: Remote #LI-Remote

You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. Strategy – Create, implement, and review Data Center Strategy including plans for End-User, EPC’s and influencing OEM’s while bringing together ABB Motion Divisions to develop a “One Motion” message to data center owners.
  2. Staff and develop a team of 5-10 key account managers that will manage the relationships and drive ABB Motion brand recognition and AVL acceptance with hyperscale, enterprise and micro data centers while additionally driving ABB involvement in data center industry technical communities.
  3. Understand and communicate to internal stakeholders Data center general architecture, support infrastructure & applications and correlate to all ABB Motion Business Areas ultimately leading the definition of Data Centers (market presence, execution standards and delivery model).
  4. Targets – Drives profitable growth by focusing on penetration, innovation and expansion by defining key targets (e.g., volume, prices, portfolio mix) and ensuring these are achieved through business plan execution for Data Center segment.
  5. Market Analysis – Activates operation intelligence, benchmarking, and analysis to identify industry segment trends, practices, product gaps, competitor strategy and understands relevant regulations and security standards in the data center market to capture new business opportunities while identifying and managing risk relating to market trends, to contract agreements and to prices for HVAC segment.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering Preferred) with minimum 10 years experience (at least 7 of those years in direct customer facing sales in an industrial market, with product knowledge and leadership.)
  • Must have experience in Industrial Motors and/or Drives, Global business financial acumen and Data Center Infrastructure Support.
  • Additional Preferred Experience - SAP / WorkDay / Lean Six Sigma Certifications / PMP Certification / Experience in a Matrixed Org / OEM.
  • Travel: Up to 50%.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
