About the Team

Nu's Finance organization is structured into functional areas that together safeguard financial stability, compliance and strategic decision-making. Most core finance functions operate under a dual reporting structure — reporting directly into the global Finance team, with a dotted line to the business they support — which keeps us close to the operation while holding a consistent global standard.

Within Finance, FP&A owns budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning, and acts as the analytical partner behind the company's biggest decisions. The team drives profitable growth by improving visibility, forecasting quality, consolidation and analysis of results and key metrics, translating them into insights and recommended actions for senior management. It also defines the performance metrics that create accountability and ownership across FP&A and the business units — tracking them consistently to measure progress, monitor KPIs and drive cost optimization.

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Credit Products FP&A to be the finance owner for Nu's consumer and small business credit businesses across all markets – Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, the United States, and the geographies we enter next. Credit is the engine that powers Nubank's economics, and this role is the person leadership turns to when the question is how that engine actually behaves: what drives revenue, what drives losses, and how the two reconcile into a single view of each product.

The scope covers every credit product we offer, including credit card, personal loans, and other lending products, and it will grow as Nu launches new products and enters new markets. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and consistent exposure to senior leadership, including the executives who run these businesses. You will be expected to hold a position when the analysis supports it, push back with evidence, and take direct feedback.

This role is about building as Nubank grows including reengineering how we model and forecast our credit businesses, starting with the economics of a single customer and building up to the portfolio P&L. You will also own the position Finance takes on those numbers with the Management Team. Doing that credibly requires deep, hands‑on expertise in consumer credit: how portfolios originate, season, revolve, and lose money, and how pricing, underwriting, and funding decisions flow through to the P&L. Experience in Brazil, our largest market, is a plus.

You will lead a team of 15‑20 finance professionals, set the standard for their work, and develop a deep talent pool, while staying close enough to the models and the data to challenge them on substance.

You’ll be Responsible for
  • Own the planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycles for Credit Card and Lending across all markets, with full accountability for the integrity of the numbers and for the position Finance takes on them with leadership.

  • Forecast and explain the net revenue and the credit economics of each product, from net interest income, funding cost, interchange, and fees to delinquency, provisioning, and loss, so that revenue and credit views reconcile into a single, defensible view of profitability.

  • Build consumer credit P&Ls and forecasting models from first principles, using cohort and vintage analysis to reflect how a portfolio actually behaves, and model how pricing, limit, underwriting, and funding decisions flow through to each product and to Nubank's consolidated P&L.

  • Own the partnership with Risk and loss forecasting, and be the authority across Finance on the drivers of consumer credit performance.

  • Partner with the leaders of the credit businesses and a senior group of General Managers, bringing the finance perspective into growth, pricing, and portfolio decisions early enough to change them.

  • Prepare clear, concise executive materials that explain how the credit portfolios are performing, in support of budget cycles, executive reviews, and company earnings.

  • Build and lead the team: set the talent bar, coach analysts and managers, and create a succession pipeline. Decide where the team's capacity goes between recurring cycles, improvement work, and demands from across the organization.

  • Drive the use of AI, advanced analytics, and automation in planning and analysis, reinvest the capacity it releases into our expanding geographies, deeper analysis, and business partnering, and keep the judgment to review and challenge AI-generated output.

What We're Looking For Someone Who Has

Required

Professional experience & education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA) is a plus.

  • Extensive experience in consumer credit, within FP&A, credit strategy, strategic finance, or business analysis at a bank, card issuer, consumer lender, or fintech.

  • Proven track record of building P&Ls and forecasting models for consumer credit products, not only maintaining them.

  • Direct experience with credit card and consumer lending economics, including cohort and vintage analysis, provisioning, and loss forecasting.

  • Experience leading teams responsible for modeling and forecasting the financial outcomes of credit products, and developing the people on them.

  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership on strategic decisions.

  • Experience launching or scaling a credit product or market within a larger financial institution is a plus.

  • Fluent English. Portuguese or Spanish is a plus.

Competences & attributes
  • Consumer credit mastery: you know how consumer credit portfolios behave across the full lifecycle, from origination and underwriting through seasoning, revolving vs. transacting behavior, interchange and rewards dynamics, delinquency, collections, and charge-off. You can build the P&L for a credit card or a consumer loan product from a blank page, understand how every line interacts, and find what is wrong in a model built by someone else or by an AI tool. Deep expertise in Brazilian consumer credit, gained at a bank, issuer, retail finance company, or fintech that originates and manages its own credit portfolio is a plus.

  • Unit economics and marginal decision-making: a strong command of net interest income and funding cost, interchange, fee income, cohort and vintage analysis, provisioning, and the trade-off between growth and credit quality.

  • Builder mindset: you are comfortable improving models, not only operating them, and building planning processes where none exist yet. You are at ease starting from incomplete information, making assumptions explicit, and revising them as the business learns.

  • Executive presence: you present with clarity and authority to senior executives, hold your ground on substance, and adapt when new information changes the answer.

  • Stakeholder management: you build trust-based relationships with business leaders, Risk, Legal, and Treasury, and influence decisions without formal authority.

  • Technology and AI fluency: you use modern analytics and AI tools to raise the speed and quality of the team's work, and you know where their output needs a human check.

  • Talent development: you raise the bar for the people around you through coaching, direct feedback, and the example you set.
